Just 130 kilometers southwest of Cebu City and about three hours bus ride, the Kawasan Falls is located inside the mountains of Barangay Matutinao, Badian.

From the entrance you will have to walk uphill for about 1.5 kl to get to the first waterfall. Along the way, souvenir shops are selling accessories such as beaded necklaces, bracelets, and Kawasan print t-shirts.

Ayala Business Park

Cebu Business Park (CBP) is a 50-hectare masterplanned development in Cebu City,Philippines. It integrates business, residential, sports, recreation and leisure facilities.

The centerpiece of the business park is the 9-hectare Ayala Center Cebu shopping mall, which draws 60,000 shoppers daily.

History

In the late 1980s, the Cebu provincial government sold its 45-hectare property used as the Club Filipino Golf Course to the Ayala Corporation. The development features for the Cebu Business Park were incorporated into the 1990 zoning ordinance of Cebu City. Land development work on the business park was completed in 1992.

To spur further commercial activity, the 6-hectare Ayala Center Cebu shopping mall was built as the business park's centerpiece.

Cebu Holdings, an affiliate of Ayala Land, is currently responsible for the development of Cebu Business Park. As of 2003, it is the single largest urban development project in the Philippines outside of Metro Manila.

Mactan-Mandaue Bridge

Mactan-Mandaue Bridge or popularly called The First Mactan-Mandaue Bridge is the first of two bridges spanning across the Mactan Channel and connecting the islands of Cebu and Mactan.

History

The 846-meter long and 9-meter wide box truss bridge was constructed during the term of the late President Ferdinand Marcos. The construction began in 1970, a year after the declaration of Mandaue as a chartered city. It was inaugurated on July 4, 1971. Finished in 1972 at a cost of 65 million pesos. The bridge was designed and created wholly by Filipino engineers.

Magellan's Cross

Magellan's Cross is a Christian cross planted by Portuguese, and Spanish explorers as ordered by Ferdinand Magellan upon arriving in Cebu in the Philippines on (depending on source) April 14 or 21, 1521.

This cross is housed in a chapel next to the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño on Magallanes Street (Magallanes being the Spanish name of Magellan), just in front of the city center of Cebu City. A sign below the cross describes the original cross is encased inside the wooden cross that is found in the center of the chapel. This is to protect the original cross from people who chipped away parts of the cross for souvenir purposes or in the belief that the cross possesses miraculous powers. Some people, however, believe that the original cross had been destroyed or had disappeared after Magellan's death, and the cross is a replica that was planted there by the Spaniards after they successfully colonized the Philippines.
